Euryurus maculatus Koch, by direct substitution and synonymy, through subsequent designation of Attems
(1938) as type of the replacement name Eutheatus; Attems asserted the synonymy of maculatus with Polydesmus erythropygos Brandt, the name actually stipulated as type of Eutheatus but unavailable as not one of the three originally included species. The names maculatus and erythropygos are no longer considered as congeneric.
