The name was formally proposed as new, and based on the above cited type-species, by Schubart 1945 (Revta Bras. Biol. 5: 279), dated VII.1945. The name became available, however, by its appearance in a key to the Brazilian Spirostreptidae, where also the single species included was mentioned, which was published in the publication cited above, dated 31.III.1945.
