Metonomastus a/bus was described from Orjen Mountain, the summit of which is in Montenegro. Presumably the species was found on the north-western flank of the massif in Hercegovina. It has not yet been recorded for Montenegro. While Verhoeff originally described two species albus and bosniensis which have long been regarded as conspecific, Hoffman & Lohmander (1968) consider it likely that Verhoeff and Attems have treated two different species under this name. Golovatch & Stoev (2004) retain the name M. bosniensis which was described from only a single female specimen; they point out that its status needs clarification. The record from Slovenia comes from Golovatch & Stoev (2004) who, however, did not give an exact locality.
